Make Data Leadership a Top Priority

The role of the data leader has never been more important to the strategic value of data to an organization—or more promising in its potential to drive increased positive business outcomes across functions.

Our research tracks value generated by business intelligence (BI) initiatives and the rates of success of initiatives—both with and without a data leader—as well as the effectiveness of such leaders over time.

The results are clear: The sooner an organization can appoint a data leader, the better. Our data show that rates of success, effectiveness, and achievement likely will improve to the extent that the expense of the role more than pays for itself (even in smaller organizations)—especially given that the return on investment (ROI) for data and analytics is high
