Dresner Advisory January 2026 News
2025 was a busy year of data collection, analysis, research, and ongoing dialogue with our community. It has also been a challenging year for many markets and organizations. We hope that the research, insights, and guidance we’ve shared across analytical data infrastructure, analytics and AI tools, ERP, and performance applications have helped you make more informed decisions and navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.

Thank you for the trust you place in our work and for the collaborative spirit that defines the Dresner Advisory community. We look forward to continued collaboration in 2026 and to supporting your priorities across these important domains.

Howard Dresner, Founder and Chief Research Officer

Happy New Year! The entire team at Dresner Advisory wishes you good health and happiness for the coming year.

Here’s a look at recent and upcoming activity.

Market Studies

We’re excited about the 2026 research calendar, which currently has over 20 major market studies planned, including several new analytical data infrastructure (ADI)-focused special reports covering data lakes, warehouse, catalog, MDM, and observability.

Analysts are currently working on an Agentic/Generative AI Special Report, scheduled for publication in January, an ADI Overview Report, and the 4th annual Workforce Planning and Analysis Market Study, slated for February.

Research Insights

Research Insights provide a concise analysis of the important issues that are front and center for data leaders today. These are authored for our Data Leader end user clients and are available to the vendors via the portal for your internal use. Recent titles include:

–       The Office of Finance and Agentic AI—Better Get Used to It

–       To Limit Spreadsheet Proliferation, Target Value-Added Scenarios

–       ERP Agentic AI Is Ready for Primetime

–       As BICCs Evolve, Successful Data Leaders Will Accept Change Instead of Fighting It

Research Insights make excellent fulfillment pieces for campaigns. You may leverage your “units” of analyst time for Research Insight distribution. If you are interested, please contact Danielle.

  2026 New Year Data Collection

This month we kick off the New Year data collection process, which will inform our Business Intelligence, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) flagships, and all 2Q and 3Q thematic studies.

We are holding a couple of vendor information sessions on January 22nd and 23rd to dive into the specifics of topics covered in this program, and actions/deadlines for vendors. You should have received details on dates and registration – please register for the session date/time that best suits your schedule, and if you have any questions about the process, reach out to Michelle (michelle@dresneradvisory.com).

2026 Planning

Now is an excellent time to plan how you’d like to leverage the units of analyst time included in your subscription. Let’s set up a short call.  We can discuss various ways we can support you, whether that is analyst participation in your outbound/lead gen and awareness programs, customer events, and industry conferences, or engaging in your internal strategic planning, competitive, messaging, and Go to Market efforts.

Michael’s Adventure!

One of our senior analysts, Michael Moran, a retired Naval officer, has decided to follow his passion and be a crew member on the Clipper Round the World sailing race.

The race is on its 5th leg, a 3,400 nautical mile journey from Fremantle to Airlie Beach, Australia. After leaving Fremantle, teams headed east, tackling a challenging swell before rounding Tasmania and negotiating the often-tricky Bass Strait. As the fleet heads north along Australia’s east coast, the endurance test gives way to tactical coastal sailing, with crews facing shifting winds, currents, and sprint stages which test teamwork and navigation.

We look forward to Michael’s next update from Airlie Beach and wish him continued fair winds and following seas.
