Market Studies

 

We recently published the Analytical Data Products Report (formerly Analytical Platforms) and are making final edits for the 13th annual Embedded BI Market Study Report, scheduled for release mid-month.

This will conclude our 2025 Market Studies agenda with 21 major market studies published this year, including new titles covering Semantic Layer, Agentic AI, and ERP.

Market Studies are the cornerstone of our organization, and it has been our pleasure to provide this encyclopedic body of research to our readership this year.

 

 

Research Insights

 

Research Insights provide a concise analysis of the important issues that are front and center for data leaders today. These are authored for our Data Leader end user clients and are available to the vendors via the portal. Recent titles include:

2026 Planning

Michael’s Adventure!

One of our senior analysts, Michael Moran, a retired Naval officer, has decided to follow his passion and be a crew member on the Clipper Round the World sailing race.

In early November, Michael checked in from Punta del Este, Uruguay, prior to their departure for Cape Town, South Africa. While Michael is committed to seeing himself through the end of the race, which is scheduled to end in July 2026 in Portsmouth, UK, his experience to date has caused him to recalibrate his mindset from adventure focused to endurance.

The race is on its fourth leg, with the fleet at sea heading from Cape Town toward Fremantle, Australia. We look forward to Michael’s next update and wish him continued fair winds and following seas.

2026 New Year Data Collection

 

In January we will begin the New Year data collection process which will inform our 2026 BI, EPM, and ERP flagship market studies as well as all thematic reports scheduled for 2Q and 3Q.

Maintaining our long-established methods, the process will commence with vendor information sessions held across several dates and times in mid-January. This 30-minute session will cover the research topics to be included and actions and deadlines for vendors.
