Aug – Sept 2022 Newsletter

August 29, 2022

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer! Here is a recap of recent activity at Dresner Advisory.

Market Studies

We published the inaugural Master Data Management and 9th annual Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) thematic reports in July. In August, we released our new Model Ops and the 9th annual Data Science and Machine Learning thematic studies.

September is SME month, where we will issue both the Small and Mid-Sized Enterprise Business Intelligence and the SME Performance Management reports.

In addition we have finalized the BI Vendor Insights and are working to complete the EPM Vendor Insights libraries for those that have
included them in their subscription.

If you have questions on your Vendor Insight or would like to discuss adding these to your subscription for promotional or competitive
purposes, let me know and I’ll arrange a call.

Research Insights

Research Insights are our thought leadership reports covering a wide range of topics to help keep you informed of key developments in the
industry.

Here are some recently released titles:

  • Minimize Negative Impact From BI M&A Activity Through Ongoing Operational Risk Management
  • EPM Market Maturity Masks Cloud Migration and Deployment Issues for the Unwary
  • Make Adoption (not Migration) Your Cloud BI Strategy
  • Design Your Company’s Collaborative BI to Take On Employee Retention, ESG, and the Company Metaverse
  • Time to Take Ownership and Align Spreadsheets with Your Data Strategies and Programs
  • Time to Seriously Reconsider the Role Open Source Can Play in Data and Analytics

Future Research Insights will cover BI Budgets, Healthcare and BI, ADI/ODI, and Data Catalogs.

Your client copies of the research can be viewed and downloaded via the client portal. If you have questions about usage and distribution, or need help accessing the portal please let me know.

Mid-Year Data Collection

Mid-Year Data Collection is in full swing, with the data we collect supporting all 4Q22 and 1Q23 market studies, including Analytical Data Infrastructure, Embedded BI, and Data Engineering. We’ve also added two new topics, Workforce Planning and Analysis, and Supply Chain Planning and Analysis, to the 2023 agenda.

If you’ve completed your vendor survey, you will have received a dedicated link to the end user survey. Please distribute to your customers and encourage their participation – we recommend broad and direct distribution methods such as an email campaign. If you are an ADI vendor, please remind your customers to rate you in that section of the survey.

We will be collecting end user input through the mid October. If you have questions or need help with your vendor survey or your customer outreach, please reach out to Michelle.

We appreciate your ongoing support!

Best regards,
Danielle
