Here is a recap of recent activity at Dresner Advisory.

Market Studies

At the end of April we published the Self-Service Business Intelligence Market Study thematic report. We also took this opportunity to release a new report on Guided AnalyticsTM! Guided Analytics improves time to insight and action by supporting the creation of connections between related and relevant information, and directing and suggesting analytical story flow. We wanted to highlight this as a separate report, as we believe Guided Analytics is an important emerging technology in the shift to more self-service BI.

Our analyst team is currently working on the 12th annual Flagship BI Market Study, which will be published at the end of the month. June’s reports will include Data Catalog (5th edition) and the Flagship Enterprise Performance Management (7th edition).

Vendor Insights

This month we will complete the 2021 library of Vendor Insights for Analytical Data Infrastructure (ADI) and will soon begin work on those for business intelligence, followed by EPM.

Vendor Insights is a relatively new research product that offers a detailed look into individual vendor and product performance – which can be used for promotional or competitive purposes. Please contact me if you would like information on licensing.

Research Insights

We recently published the following Research Insights:

  • The 2021 Business Intelligence Value Index®
  • First 2021 Dresner Advisory Update on COVID-19 Impacts to Businesses, Projects, and Budgets

  • Viewpoints for BI User/Practitioner Governance

Upcoming Research Insights will include:

  • SI Use and Utilization, and the Relationship to BI Success

The full list of completed Research Insights is shared on the portal. Let us know if you have questions about the research or need help accessing any of these titles.

Luncheon Learning Sessions

We continue to hold monthly free education webinars, which are open to all. The next session will take place on May 18th at 12:00 PM. The topic is Data Entrepreneurship, with a segment by MIT Professor Bill Aulet. You can register here.

Real Business Intelligence 2021

We plan to officially launch the 5th annual Real Business Intelligence Conference this month. The conference will be held September 21-22 and is currently planned as a hybrid event, both at MIT in Cambridge, MA, and online.

We will continue to follow guidelines from State and Local Government, public health officials, and MIT to determine if we will need to shift the program to a completely virtual event. We remain highly flexible and will allow attendees and sponsors to pivot from the onsite program to virtual – or issue refunds if needed. Please contact me if you’d like to learn more.

Thank you again for your continued support!

Best regards,
Danielle
